Glia Educação and ESA OAB-SP launch a groundbreaking partnership to train board directors in the legal profession
Glia Educação and the OAB-SP School of Law join tradition, innovation, and academic excellence to launch the first Board Director Training program with an exclusive focus on Brazilian legal practice.
The initiative was born to meet a growing market demand for legal professionals capable of operating in high-governance environments — serving on boards of directors, advisory boards, audit committees, ethics and integrity committees, risk committees, and other strategic decision-making bodies.
More than a supplementary qualification, the course opens a new frontier of practice for lawyers. In a context where public and private organizations seek leadership with solid legal training, strategic vision, regulatory knowledge, management capability, and an understanding of corporate governance principles, the legal profession's presence in decision-making spaces is becoming increasingly significant.
Developed specifically for legal professionals, the program will cover topics such as corporate governance, the responsibilities of directors and board members, risk management, compliance, sustainability, business strategy, finance for board directors, stakeholder relations, corporate ethics, and management best practices.
The partnership between Glia Educação and ESA OAB-SP brings together the innovation capacity of an institution dedicated to leadership development and the credibility of the largest and most respected continuing education school in the Brazilian legal profession.
With a modern methodology, a highly qualified faculty, and strong market ties, the course was designed to prepare professionals ready to contribute to the longevity, transparency, and high performance of organizations.
Glia Educação and ESA OAB-SP: a pioneering partnership that broadens the horizons of legal practice and prepares its professionals for the highest levels of leadership, governance, and strategic influence.
The Course
The program trains lawyers to operate with excellence across the full board ecosystem — as board directors, governance secretaries, or committee members. Unlike generalist market programs, it starts from the premise that a legal professional arrives at the boardroom with competencies the board values and the average executive lacks: a broad view of risk, fluency in mediation and consensus-building, a habit of critical reflection, and the ability to read scenarios under uncertainty. Building on this foundation, the program develops the director's fiduciary responsibility, financial and strategic literacy as decision-making tools, and the ability to act in crisis and conflict situations — anchoring each axis in concrete cases and a final board simulation. The legal perspective is not incidental: it is the program's core competency.
Structure
Dois encontros presenciais (abertura e encerramento), doze encontros online ao vivo, e três estudos de caso assíncronos (15h) analisados ao longo do curso. A avaliação final é um trabalho prático em grupo, apresentado no encerramento.
